Why CCIB certification matters to chuchua.tech and our partners
Neil Hampshire

It’s been an incredibly busy few months at chuchua.tech. Between architecting off-grid radio networks to connect our remote valleys and developing interactive Secwepemc language digital prototypes, we’ve been heads-down building the future of infrastructure right here in Simpcw territory.
But amid the coding and the coffee, we crossed a major milestone that we are incredibly proud to share: We are now officially a Certified Indigenous Business (CIB) vetted by the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB).
Why this certificate matters to us
When we founded chuchua.tech as a brother-sister partnership, our goal was about more than just technology. It was about bringing high-level capacity back home to the Nation. We wanted to prove that enterprise-grade software engineering, network security, and Data Sovereignty strategy could be delivered right here, by our own people.
In the fast-moving tech world, sometimes "who you are" can get lost. The CCIB certification is the gold standard that proves we are exactly who we say we are: 100% Indigenous owned, managed, and controlled. For us, it’s not just a logo on a website; it’s confirmation of our foundation.
Why this certificate matters to you (Our Partners)
If you are currently working with us, or are considering a partnership, this certification provides something invaluable: Trust.
When you see that CIB "Certified" logo on our business cards or in our proposals, it means that a major national organization has thoroughly vetted our business structure, our legal standing, and our operations. It gives you the confidence that chuchua.tech has the professional standing to deliver on its promises.
For local businesses and government entities, this certification reduces operational risk. You aren't just hiring "a couple of local devs", you are partnering with a vetted corporate entity.
Furthermore, it simplifies procurement. Many corporate and government contracts now have specific mandates to hire Indigenous firms. Our CCIB status makes that partnership seamless and compliant.
The path forward
This certification is just the beginning. It unlocks doors to federal "set-aside" contracts, opens up Joint Venture opportunities with larger firms that need our access, and helps us build the internal capacity to create tech jobs within the community.
We are proud of our heritage, we are confident in our technical skill, and now, we have the official CCIB certification that backs both up.
If you have an IT project, an idea for an app, or need high-level strategic oversight, we’re ready. Let’s build something together.
